Learning Activities:

  • refer to all things teachers and learners do in the classroom
  • include teaching methods (what the teacher does to enhance learning) and learning tasks (objectives-related activities learners do)

Classroom Examples

Elementary

After the lesson's planned activities have concluded, and with five minutes remaining, the teacher and learners in a fourth-grade language arts class participate in a class discussion reviewing the lesson's key concept of mood in relation to stories they had read previously.

Secondary

At the end of a tenth-grade biology lesson, the teacher and the learners spend the final five minutes of the period sharing questions that might be found on an upcoming exam.

Elementary and Secondary

With 10 minutes remaining of class time, the teacher reviews the home-learning assignment. As a wrap-up activity, learners are solicited to share what they have learned from the previous lesson's activity.
