Examples
Elementary
During a
second-grade reading lesson, the teacher encourages learners to listen
with an open mind to each other’s ideas as they work in cooperative
groups to answer the comprehension questions, and to keep a respectful
attitude. As the learners engage in the activity, it is evident that they
are, in fact, treating each other with respect.
Secondary

During
a review in a seventh-grade social studies class, a learner makes an
obviously incorrect response. The teacher helps focus the learner’s
attention with a guiding clue and asks the learner to try again.

In a ninth-grade
language atrs class engaged
in a creative writing activity, after a learner shares a written
piece, the teacher asks another learner to TAG it.
